3 : Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Batteries
End-of-life electrical and electronic products are known as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
WEEE and waste batteries may contain hazardous materials, components and substances that can present a risk to human health and the environment if handled incorrectly at the end of life. They may also contain reusable parts and valuable materials that can be recycled.
To conserve natural resources and prevent possible negative impacts on the environment and human health, WEEE and waste batteries must not be discarded together with household waste and should be collected separately for proper treatment and disposal.
